Unrelenting Bombardment and Siege in Khan Younis
The city of Khan Younis has been subjected to an unceasing bombing campaign that continued throughout the night. The city’s small refugee camps and public facilities have been the primary targets of relentless Israeli artillery shelling, as well as a massive airstrike that occurred in the vicinity of Nasser Hospital.
However, it’s not just Nasser Hospital, the city’s largest public facility, that finds itself under military siege. Al-Amal Hospital, a part of a charitable organization that operates healthcare facilities across the Gaza Strip, is also under siege. With its headquarters in Khan Younis, this hospital has been out of service for the past few days due to the ongoing conflict.
What’s particularly alarming is the presence of snipers in the vicinity of this hospital. The hospital buildings, which currently house hundreds of displaced Palestinians, are surrounded. These individuals face the risk of being shot if they attempt to leave the buildings. This dire situation underscores the urgent need for a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
